Sport with Dylan

Today Dylan  came to our class to help us learn. After play Dylan took us out to the play ground to play sport. We started off with some stretches. After that we played pancake tiggy.
He also taught us a new game of dodgeball.
Just before lunch we gave Dylan some feedback about his lesson:
It was more fun than our other one. I like how you got to go up close - Jack
It's better than all the dodgeballs I've played - Piers
It's fun getting to go up to the yellow line, not just the half line, to throw the ball -Riley

Safety with copyright

Mrs Coffa came in & taught us about attribution online, but also with drawn pictures. I reckon that Middle S learnt a lot about attribution today. Alex & I did a roll play about attribution and I think we did a great job performing in front of the class. Middle S watched a video about this guy taking someone else's song & saying it was theirs. It had a few good words. e.g. plagiarisation, citation & credit. We made a twitter wall about attribution.

Responsible Pet Ownership

Last week the Juniors and Middles had the privilege of meeting Melinda and her dog, Kato. They go around to schools telling students how to look after their pets and also how to approach dogs in a safe way. Here are some pictures of the Middles approaching Kato:

This visit inspired some students in Middle S to bring in their pets to visit the class. Ivy's mum brought in Flopsy, their cat:

And yesterday, Adam's mum brought in Monty, their Bearded Collie. Monty was very excited to meet Middle S and he even did a dance for us. Meeting Monty was great as we got to practise our safe approach to dogs techniques that we learnt last week.

Our Mini Orchard

This week some students in Middle S noticed something about the outside environment here at school.
We have lemons growing!
Our mini orchard that was planted last year is now bearing fruit. Thanks to the waterers and composters for noticing and taking the photo below.

I wonder which fruit tree will be next...

A Concert at Whitefriars

Today the Middles ventured out to Whitefriars College in Donvale to watch many of their talented students perform a variety of music in their bands and choir. Below are Middle S' reflections and what they wanted to say to the Whitefriars students...

I thought that inviting us to the concert was really nice of you – Alex
