Welcome back to TERM 2!




This is our first week back after the school holidays and our PE teacher has  introduced us to some new warm up games.

WARM UP GAMES

Red rover
All students on baseline with one student ‘it’. Students all call “red rover red rover can we come over?” ‘It’ replies “yes but only if…” (chose a variable). Those students try to run to safety of other end without being tagged. Tagged students join ‘it’ person. All other students get a free pass to other end.

Captain’s orders
To the ship: run to the captain’s right.
To the island: run to the captain’s left.
Hit the deck: lay down on your stomach.
Three men in a boat: the crew must form groups of three and sing “Row, row, row your boat”

Freight train tag
Groups of 4. Three students stand in line with hands on each other’s hips. 4th child is the chaser and tries to join the end of the ‘train’. If successful, the 1st person becomes the chaser.

Three’s a crowd
Students stand in pairs (one in front of other). One spare student is the tagger and another is the runner. If tagged, change roles. When runner is tired, they can join a pair and the person on the other end must run off.

And this is what we thought...
In our sport lesson today it was fun because we played 4 games from the warm up list you emailed to Ms Scott - Declan
Sport was in the hall. It was really fun and i think everybody had lots of fun - Pat

Most of the games we had already played and getting to do it with your class as well as doing team work is good - Caitlin
