Netball skills clinic

This week Chloe, Rosie and Tessa ran a netball skills clinic for the students of Middle S. Unfortunately the rain prevented us from holding the clinic outside but this did not faze the girls at all - they organised themselves, their equipment and their activities to be done in the hall.
Here is a slide show of their clinic (some are a bit fuzzy as the class were constantly moving!) and feedback that the students had for each other:

Netball Clinic on PhotoPeach I liked how you worked together and you didn’t t do lots of activities, as they were fun and I learnt new things – Ben
I thought you did really well with the coaching and the choices of activities were good and thumbs up from me. I was also quite a big difference for me because I’m used to playing basketball – Dan
I thought it was fun and I really enjoyed it as I’m used to kicking the ball instead of using my hands. I learnt a lot of new stuff – Gemma
I enjoyed it because I got to learn new skills and I’m not as good at netball - Matt
You did really well and you remembered a lot – Luke
I liked how you weren’t standing around but moving used to places. Some advice is to try not and use the whistle too much. It was quite fun and I enjoyed it – Riley
I thought you did really well and were organised but it would be nice to do some more activities. Great effort! – Amber
I liked how you kept doing activities. You told us what to do before breaking into groups. I liked how you organised it and I liked the activity at the start where we ran with a partner and throw the ball back and forth. Next time it would be good to do more activities – Joe
I liked how you set it up and you told us what to do. I really liked having a shot of netball because I usually play different sports - Ciaran
I thought it was really good and fun (apart from getting hit in the face with the ball) – Nick
I like how you set it up and I had lots of fun – Natasha
Questions for the girls:
Is it hard to be like Jennine, our team coach? – Madeleine (Not really, though sometimes people didn’t listen)
Why did you want to do it? – Joe (we really like netball, we thought it would be fun, we have a few skills and wanted to teach you)
How long did it take to prepare it? – Joe (not very long, just a bit of play or lunch, we organised it on a sheet)
Chloe, Rosie and Tessa said:
We were going to do “golden child outside if it didn’t rain I thought my group was really good. Some people could have paid more attention (Chloe)
I didn’t think anyone mucked around in my group (Rosie)
I thought it was really fun because my group was really good and paid attention and gave their best shot at it. I thought everyone did really good with their listening  (Tessa)

Learning about Measurement through Volume

Soccer Skills

Today 4 students in Middle S ran a soccer clinic as our PE lesson. These students have a great number of skills between them and were quite keen to share them with the rest of our class. They planned the activities and organised the equipment themselves. With support they helped everyone to get into groups and practise the skills they had chosen.

I thought it was really fun and I liked the drills. My favourite was when you called out a number and it was familiar because of basketball – Dan
I liked that they did soccer drills because it’s a bit different and I really had fun – Laura
It was a well set out activity for sport and the game at the end was good because it made it a bit more fun – Matt
I enjoyed the soccer and also the game when you yelled out numbers – Adam
I liked how you knew what you wanted us to do and when –Luke
I liked how you did the activity for us because we hadn’t done it for a while - Travis
I liked how you were really well organised and I liked how you did drills so we could learn different things – Amber
How you set it all out and how you made a game of it – Ben
I thought it was really fun because you had it all set out so we didn’t have to wait - Tessa
I like the game with then numbers and I liked how you did not have just a game but also drills – Chloe
I think everyone did a really good job, even if they don’t play soccer, they were more like you guys – Amelia I reckon everyone did a good job since not everyone uses their feet in sport – Gemma
I think you did really well for beginners – Ciaran
I thought you did really well and if you didn't know what to do you tried your best and didn’t give up – Will You all did really well even if you don’t play soccer – Connor
